With over 4 million Youtube views on his hit single “Falling for You”, Lyon Hart is one of the hottest acts coming out of NYC right now. Lyon Hart released his debut EP in 2015 and has worked with a host of artists including Noosa and Elephante. He recently dropped the video for “Delusional”—an evocative found-footage piece playing with unrequited love in classic imagery. I got to talk with Lyon Hart about his new track, the challenges of being a gay musican today, and what’s in store for 2017.
MUNA is one of the most evocative and original pop bands coming out of LA. After meeting at USC, Josette Maskin, Katie Gavin and Naomi McPherson starting playing together and self-released an EP in 2014. They have since signed to RCA, put out the critically acclaimed The Loudspeaker EP and even had their own Spotify Sessions EP. I talked with the girls about signing to a major label, their idols and upcoming album.
At only 19, Claire Wilkinson aka Clairity has released her own EP, written with Kesha and been featured on shows like Teen Wolf. Her single “Velcro” made our top tracks of 2015 and we have been loving her ever since. Her evocative songwriting speaks to the outsider in us all. I got to speak to Claire about her newest track “Words Like Weapons”, her musical heroes and her what it’s like listening to yourself on TV.
This past June I had the joy of interviewing Ji Nilsson about her single “Perfume”. The hauntingly beautiful musician released her first EP, “Blue Is The Saddest Colour” last week. It contains a wonderful blend of R&B, pop and electronic sensibilities. The EP features hit song “Heartbreakfree” as well as new tracks “Nothing” and “Special Kind”. I chatted with Ji about the EP, writing gender-neutral songs and her plans for the rest of 2015.
It all started when actor/stylist Jonathan Van Ness was recapping Game of Thrones for writer/director Erin Gibson. She then developed his hilarious recaps into a web series for Funny or Die. In the show Jonathan styles a client’s hair while discussing the past week’s episode of Game of Thrones. The show has featured celebrity guests like Margaret Cho, Missi Pyle and George R.R. Martin himself. I talked with Jonathan about his character, favorite guests and future recaps.

Tempest Dujour was one of the 14 lucky girls picked to be on season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. While she was the first girl to go home, her sense of humor and larger than life personality left a big impression on audiences. Tempest has been hosting her popular Retro Game Show Night in her home city of Tucson, AZ as well as traveling the US with her drag. I talked to Tempest about her touching moments on the show, her fashion and who would play her in a drag biopic.
Jose García is a phenomenal illustrator and 2d animator living in Mexico City. He is the artist behind great works like Beren and Seasons. Jose is also the author and illustrator of My 8 Bit Story, a tale of a young woman who looses herself in a fantasy world filled with popular video game characters and themes. I talked with Jose about his artwork, favorite video games and future projects.

Damiana Garcia (aka Michael Lucid) is an intrepid reporter who has interviewed such faux-celebrities as Madonna and Barbara Streisand. She has interviewed season after season of RuPaul’s Drag Race queens for World of Wonder. Damiana has also made a cornucopia of hilarious videos on her Youtube channel. I chatted with Damiana about her fashions, her favorite interview and making videos with her gal pals.
Mrs. Kasha Davis made the world laugh this past season on RuPaul’s Drag Race. The Rochester, NY queen filled the challenges with humor and brought class to the runway. Her catch phrase “There’s always time for a cocktail” has been all over social media. She just released a single and is touring a one-woman show. I talked with Mrs. Kasha Davis about her life after the show, her favorite spots in Rochester and boxed wine.
Ji Nilsson came onto the scene last year thanks to the success of tracks like “Heartbreakfree” and “Encore”. Hailing from Stockholm, Ji’s music is that of an R&B mermaid luring in the masses over dance-inducing electronic beats. Ji sings, writes and produces all her own music. Equally entrancing as her music are Ji’s music videos. The videos for “Heartbreakfree” and “Encore” recall the best parts of 80’s Madonna and Kate Bush music videos. Ji’s recently released her new single “Perfume”, which is a downtempo summer smash. I talked with Ji about the new single, future music and her love of mermaids.
